Centennial Towers Research & Development Project

RCH staff acted as senior air quality and noise analysts for the Centennial Towers Research & Development (R&D) project in South San Francisco, California. The R&D project includes construction and operation of the Centennial Towers. The criteria pollutant emissions inventory for the project utilized CalEEMod and emission models for on-road vehicles and onsite equipment. Operational emissions included fume hoods, generators, and boilers needed to support R&D operations. The health risk assessment also included a nearby permitted source, Highway 101, and CalTrain operations using USEPA's AERMOD dispersion model. Health risk assessments previously prepared for several similar research facilities were reviewed and applied to the analysis. The noise analysis included noise measurements at the project site to estimate noise levels inside the proposed North Tower. All impacts were determined to be less than significant with implementation of mitigation and the measures the City requires by law.
